Earnings Preview: JPM, GS, WFC and C Report Oct. 13; BAC, MS Follow
Large-cap reports scheduled for Oct. 13-16 include JPM, JNJ, UNH, GS, WFC and C on Oct. 13 and BAC, MS and BLK on Oct. 14, with EPS and revenue estimates.
A busy week of large-cap earnings is scheduled for Oct. 13 to Oct. 16, according to the earnings calendar as of Oct. 11. The figures below are consensus estimates; the calendar does not indicate whether reports come before or after the trading session.
Oct. 13 is the heaviest day for the largest companies. JPM, with a market value of about $881.40 billion, is expected to report EPS of $5.93 on revenue of $51.23 billion. JNJ has an EPS estimate of $2.52 and a revenue estimate of $25.38 billion, while UNH is expected at $4.14 per share on revenue of $111.31 billion. GS carries an EPS estimate of $12.86 and revenue of $16.83 billion. WFC is expected at $1.85 per share on $22.30 billion, and C at $2.66 on $23.74 billion. DPZ is also scheduled, with an estimate of $4.36.
On Oct. 14, BAC is expected to report EPS of $1.10 on revenue of $30.58 billion, and MS $2.93 on $19.93 billion. BLK carries an EPS estimate of $14.32, PGR $4.35, STT $3.68 and FAST $0.34.
Oct. 15 includes SCHW, with an EPS estimate of $1.65, IBKR at $0.67, PLD at $0.78, BNY at $2.27, MRSH at $1.97, USB at $1.32 and PNC at $4.91. JBHT, FHN and AA are also on the schedule. On Oct. 16, TRV is expected at $7.39 per share, TFC at $1.14, MTB at $4.93, CFG at $1.39 and RF at $0.67.
Weekend coverage focused on the banks. Barron's published “Stock Futures Kick Off New Week Ahead of Bank Reports,” and Investopedia's preview was headlined “What to Expect in Markets This Week: Big Bank Reports Fire Up Earnings Season; Inflation, Retail Sales Figures Land.”
